I am a graphic designer and creative strategist who loves to create engaging and effective marketing solutions for brands with integrity. I split my time and interests between advertising, cycling, web/UX design, Ugandan coffee, Chicago craft beer, live music, sustainability matters and a rediscovered interest in my old comic books.
I am an active member of the AIGA Chicago, where I participate in their mentorship program. I also serve as a Gen-C Board Member, developing ways to reach young marketing professionals (Gen-C or Generation Connected) on a national and local level, as well as at the annual international conference. I work directly with the national Board of Directors to strengthen the BMA by connecting marketers, educating our members and advancing careers.
As a Sr. Art Director at Slack and Company, I create fresh and strategic marketing solutions for our diverse BtoB clients. From establishing the conceptual and stylistic direction of a campaign, to the successful completion of its print, digital and live tactics, I am an integral member of the creative team. I mentor and manage the work of our internal and freelance staff, (including: writers, art directors, web developers, flash developers, video producers, photographers, illustrators, production artists, etc). At the same time, I love putting on my headphones and doing the design work myself. I have pride and accountability when presenting creative to our clients, and I value working closely with our account teams to personally manage and grow our client/agency relationships.
Prior joining Slack and Company, I spent 12 months living and traveling around Asia and Southeast Asia, spending time in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and China. I was surprised to find that in some countries, Chicago was known equally for the Jerry Springer show, as it was for Michael Jordan and Al Capone.
